Parent Teacher Meeting
A Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting was held on 15th June 2024 at Christ school. The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss the influence of mass media on children and the responsibilities of parents in their upbringing. The meeting was attended by teachers, parents, the Principal, the correspondent and a special resource person Dr Rayan Mathias, Student counselor at MAHE, was invited to address the key topic.
The meeting commenced with a prayer and lighting the lamp followed by a warm welcome address by Ms Shiny Priyanka, who expressed gratitude to all the parents and staff for their presence.
The Correspondent, addressed the parents. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between parents and the school to enhance the educational experience of our children.
The highlight of the meeting was the insightful address by the resource person Dr Rayan Mathias, an expert in child psychology and media studies. The resource person spoke on the following key points:
Influence of Mass Media on Children:The impact of various forms of mass media, including television, internet, and social media, on children's behavior and thought processes. The positive and negative effects of media exposure.
Responsibilities of Parents:Strategies for parents to monitor and regulate their children's media consumption. Encouraging healthy media habits and setting appropriate boundaries.
The resource person's address was highly engaging and included practical tips and real-life examples, making it very relatable for the parents.
Followed by the message of Principal, giving instructions and guidelines to the parents.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Principal, who appreciated the resource person's valuable insights and the active participation of parents and teachers.
The meeting was a success, fostering a deeper understanding of the influence of mass media on children and strengthening the partnership between parents and educators in the upbringing of the students. The program was compered by Ms Asha shetty.
